Residential Role – Wickham Point, Darwin

Based at Darwin LNG facility and reporting to the Operations Supervisor, this role is responsible for performing operational and minor maintenance duties in line with the Santos values. The role requires competence in maintaining the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of the LNG Facility. This position entails having an extensive knowledge of the process and safety systems to continuously optimise and respond to disruptions, emergencies, plant shutdown and start up within the LNG facility

Accountabilities are delivered in line with the Santos Management System (SMS), Santos Delegation of Authority (DOA) and Santos Corporate Governance and Safety requirements. Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Responding safely and effectively to emergency situations to make the area/Plant safe
- Directing field personnel to respond safely and effectively to emergency situations to make the area/plant safe
- Operating Process and Utility areas safely and efficiently within defined operating limits to meet daily production targets; volume, quality and yield. Monitoring and reporting downtime and/or lost opportunity from operational incidents and disruptions.
- Performing work aligned with the definition of minor maintenance within their competence.
- Recording all work aligned with the site maintenance management system.
- Adopting standard safe work practices and procedures in accordance with the DLNG Environmental Health and Safety Management System (SMS) and Safe Operating Procedures
- Conducting activities in accordance with DLNGs’ environmental policies, codes and guidelines
- Identifying and reporting workplace hazards, incidents and near misses and takes action to control hazards. Taking part in site risk assessments, incident reviews, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) reviews, procedure reviews, and emergency response exercises
- Performing all required activities in accordance with the competencies built through the DLNG Competency Based Training system, as required for Operations Technician.
- Enhancing equipment and unit reliability by adopting sound operating practices, including Operator Essential Care routines, minor maintenance, fault diagnosis and generation of maintenance service requests
- Maintaining effective communications with shift team members and others, including well documented and structured shift handovers in accordance with SMS Operations Excellence
- Contributing to the development of & conducts operational procedures, training manuals, Santos Work Permit Procedure (eSWPP) documents and other role associated documentation
- Issuing work permits and performs gas testing, ensures that maintenance and project activities are conducted in compliance with the Santos Work Permit Procedure (eSWPP).
- Maintaining area overview and in conjunction with the Work Permit Coordinator, ensures no conflicting work activities (SIMOPS).
- Conducting field audits of individual Permits within the area to ensure compliance with eSWPP and Santos SMS procedures and policies
- Preparing equipment for maintenance and project work and ensures equipment is isolated in compliance with Equipment Isolation procedures and eSWPP. Recommissions equipment when complete
- Participating in shutdown and turnaround planning and execution, including development of procedures and shutdown work packs
About you
You will be experienced in:
- Operations of hydrocarbon production with technical skills to control work activities and daily operations of facilities
- Use and interpretation of isometric and Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID’s)
- MSIC Security card will be advantageous.
