We are currently commissioning a number of fossil fuel power plants in the Middle East and South Africa and we have a requirement for Board Operators and Field Operators. Candidates must have prior experience of working on fossil fuelled power plants, especially heavy fuel oil and coal.
Candidates for this position must have a full understanding of the theory of operation of all building systems involved in Power Plant construction and commissioning. They must have a thorough understanding of control sequencing and how to simulate various operating conditions to prove the systems operation along with a good understanding of the building electrical distribution and the operation of such.
Duties will be as follows:
Responsible for Commissioning, Start-Up and Operations of steam turbines and auxiliary plant. Provide operational and technical direction to client operations personnel. Maintain records and documentation regarding operational and maintenance issues. Review construction / commissioning schedules and develop operational and mechanical commissioning plans to support project schedules requirements.
Write technical documents including plant operating procedures, flushing plans, initial equipment inspections, and routine maintenance practices. Support the commissioning team during test and reliability run. Monitor and coordinate the designated operation from control panel and ensuring safe and efficient operation conditions. Support PTW activities for isolation and normalization of plant equipment.
A minimum of 12 to 15 years’ experience on Petrochemical or Power Generation projects is essential for this position. These will be a contract position for between 8 and 16 months.
