About the Role

  • Field Based; 28 days on /28 days off rotational pattern within PNG

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Lead, the E&I Technician is responsible to ensure the timely completion of all Electrical /Instrumentation, maintenance and installation requirements and associated work within the Oil and Gas field area which encompasses the wellheads, flowlines, gas plant, and camp facilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Completion of planned maintenance and installation tasks within the allocated timeframe to prevent impact on gas production. 
  • Proficient in all aspects of discipline and able to effectively diagnose and complete non routine activities. 
  • Defects are reported and rectified in a timely manner. 
  • Timely response to equipment failure or breakdown. 
  • Accurate and timely submission of planned maintenance reports, and inspection sheets. 
  • Reports all incidents (safety, environmental, or operational) 
  • Give work direction to subordinates and contractor hands. 
  • All facilities are maintained to a high standard 

About You

  • Current electricity commission and instrumentation trade certificate, or be capable of attaining one for dual trades with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within the mining or oil and gas industry. 
  • Refrigeration and air conditioning certificate, or be capable of attaining one for dual trades. 
  • Must be able to obtain a PNG driver’s license 
  • Detailed overall knowledge of routine maintenance and installation pertaining to Oil and Gas plant equipment 
  • Detailed knowledge of maintenance on camp and plant refrigeration units, wellhead telemetry comms radio links and comms systems; wellhead instrumentation maintenance 
  • General knowledge of relevant electrical regulations and codes.
  • Experience Computer systems skills
  • Strong analytical, innovative solutions skills to resolve complex issues that may arise. 
  • Good organisation and time management skills 
  • Proactive and self motivated to influence and motivate others. 
  • Able to respond to changing circumstances and demands. 
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and confident to communicate on all levels. 
  • Commitment to incident free operations and HSES excellence.
  • Willingness to be vaccinated or currently hold a recognised Vaccination Card
