About the Role
Based at Fairview Field, and reporting to the Team Leader GLNG Pipeline. The primary objective of this position is to carry out the field related maintenance and operational activities to support the safe and efficient management of the GLNG pipeline network.
*** This is a 2 on / 2 off rostered work schedule
Key accountabilities include but not limited to:
- Perform operational, maintenance and essential care activities to relevant standards and work orders within the 2 week plan and schedule.
- Respond promptly when critical equipment is reported as malfunctioning or unserviceable.
- Use SAP efficiently to ensure compliance with the IMP and Work Schedules.
- Establish and maintain a close working relationship and a high level of communication with other operations personnel.
- Act as the Permit Authority and be responsible for the administration of the Santos Work Permit Procedure System (SWPP).
- Supervise contractors working on site as per the SWPP.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the Pipelines Field Coordinator, planner / scheduler, facilities and operations engineers to achieve production and maintenance goals; provide input to plans as required.
- Conduct regular pigging operations, Cathodic Protection checks, pipeline/easement inspections as per IMP and schedule requirements.
- Assist in the development and continued maintenance of standards and operating procedures.
- Manage asset shutdowns during unplanned or emergency situations, act as On-Scene Commander in the event of emergency situations when required.
- Competently operate and monitor / maintain production equipment so that operating life is enhanced, and damage is avoided.
- Isolate and prepare equipment for maintenance.
- Monitor operations and identify situations where costs could be minimised.
- Use all Santos IT systems required for day-to-day operations to maximise efficiencies (e.g. SAP, EHS Toolbox, Traccess, Santos Intranet.
- Engage in training and development ensuring core and job competencies are maintained and as directed by GLNG Pipelines Team Leader.
- Ensure all incidents, near miss issues and hazards are reported and investigated in accordance with Santos policy and procedures.
- Participate in safety and environmental meetings and emergency response exercises.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all areas of your workplace.
- Compliance with the Santos Management System (SMS).
- Compliance with the Santos Delegation of Authority (DOA).
- Compliance with the Santos Corporate Governance and Safety requirements.
About You
We are seeking for candidates with the following:
- Ideally, you will have an Apprenticeship in a mechanical trade or gas supply industries.
- Demonstrated competency in oil and gas systems is essential.
- Extensive industrial experience in the operation and maintenance of oil and gas and / or high pressure pipeline systems is preferred.
